The Raleigh Flute Choir, a chamber ensemble of professional flutists from central North Carolina, was founded in 1986 and has distinguished itself as one of the nation's leading flute choirs. Utilizing all members of the flute family, they perform an exciting repertoire spanning the centuries from the Renaissance to the present, including transcriptions and original compositions. In addition to formal concerts, they fulfill their mission to both entertain and educate by performing for numerous community and private functions, often via a trio or quartet. As a major sponsor of the Raleigh Area Flute Association, the choir also supports masterclasses, recitals, amateur choirs, seminars, and scholarships for area flutists.

Special past RFC performances include many concerts for First Night Raleigh, North Carolina Bach Festival, Biltmore Estate Christmas Celebration, Colonial Williamsburg Christmas, U.S. Olympic Festival, National Flute Association Annual Conventions of 1991 and 2002, Charleston’s Piccolo Spoleto Festival in 2001 and 2008, and The White House Christmas Celebrations in 1989, 1993, 1997, 2001, and 2011.
