Ann Pearce grew up in Raleigh, studied with Mark Thomas and Earl Slocum, and earned a Bachelor of Arts from UNC at Chapel Hill and a Masters from Duke Divinity School. She was the private flute instructor at Saint Mary's School for twenty years and has been the Handbell Choir Director for Highland United Methodist Church since 1987. In addition to being a co-founder of both the Raleigh Flute Choir and the Raleigh Area Flute Association, she composes and arranges pieces for flute choir, many of which have received awards from the National Flute Association's Newly Published Music Competition.
