Audition Requirements

Two 2-octave major scales and two 2-octave minor scales (your choice of scales, your choice of form of minor, with two played forte and two piano, tongued or slurred)
3-octave chromatic scale from low C to high C and back down (slurred).
Prepared piece
Sight-reading, including rhythm sight-reading

The director will be assessing tone quality, rhythmic and technical accuracy, intonation, range of dynamics, clarity of articulation, and musical expression.

You must schedule an audition time in advance with the director. If you cannot make the audition dates, please contact the director to schedule another time.

Rehearses most Sundays from 5-7 p.m., with one Sunday a month off. Check the rehearsal and performance schedule for more details.

BM Flute Performance, Cincinnati Conservatory. Primary studies with Dr. Bradley Garner, Randy Bowman, Jack Wellbaum (piccolo), and Heather Verbeck.

flute choir fees

$40 Per Semester

This fee is in addition to the RAFA membership dues.

If membership dues have not been paid by the first rehearsal, you will be required to pay dues and choir fee at the first rehearsal. Please make checks payable to the Raleigh Area Flute Association, or RAFA.
