NEW!  Lois Allen Flute Award  Application Form
RAFA is excited to offer a high quality flute as an award to a worthy student. It was donated for that purpose from a local friend of Ann Pearce's. His wife, the original owner of the flute, died several years ago. Now he has decided it is time to pass this wonderful instrument over to someone who will enjoy it for years to come. It is a solid silver Gemeinhardt French model with inline keys and a B foot joint with a gizmo. The RAFA Board is encouraging all students (college age and below) who need a new instrument to apply. The criteria for determining the winner will be the content of the student's essay about why he/she deserves to win the flute plus the teacher's recommendation. Complete applications are due February 1, 2010 and the student will be expected to perform on the new flute at our Members' Recital on May 16th.
