Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Erinn Frechette has served as Piccolo/Third Flute of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra since June 2002. She has been a prize winner of several competitions including first place in both the National Flute Association's Young Artist (2002) and Piccolo Artist (2000) Competitions. Erinn has been a featured performer at the 2008 National Flute Association Annual Convention in Kansas City and the Florida Flute Association's 31st Annual Flute Fair and State Convention as well as a performer/clinician at the 2008 East Carolina University Flute Symposium, Frostburg State University and the Eastern Iowa Flute Association's 2006 High School Flute Day. As a chamber musician she has performed with Ethos Chamber Orchestra, Providence Chamber Music, Friends of Music, and Noteworthy Music Recital Series in Charlotte as well as the Suzuki and Friends Chamber Music Series in Indianapolis.

Erinn holds degrees from Northwestern University and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she is currently completing a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree. Her principal teachers include Walfrid Kujala, Bradley Garner and Jack Wellbaum. For more information please visit her website.

The participatory class will mainly focus on piccolo performance, with several participants performing piccolo excerpts and repertoire.

Emily Jarrell Urbanek is currently Head of Music Preparation for Opera Carolina in Charlotte, North Carolin . She also regularly performs chamber music in Charlotte, and has spent three seasons on the musical staff of the Fort Worth Opera Festival, as well as three summers at Chautauqua Opera. Emily was invited to be one of two accompanists for Fort Worth's prestigious McCammon Voice Competition in May 2008. In Charlotte, Emily also teaches through the Community School for the Arts and serves as staff accompanist for Queens University. Emily has also worked with Cleveland Opera, Lyric Opera Cleveland, Sugar Creek Symphony and Song, Washington Concert Opera, The OK Mozart Festival, Akron Lyric Opera Theatre, and Asheville Lyric Opera. She holds degrees from Furman University, the University of Michigan, and the Cleveland Institute of Music. Emily is originally from Mars Hill, North Carolina.
